About a week after introduction, it appears some of the rumors surrounding 'bugs' in the Firefox 3 were premature. However, the rush to download the new version on its official 'launch day' did cause Mozilla's servers to go down repeatedly. (Causing a fair amount of frustration amongst those trying to obtain it!)
Rumors about site accessibility in particular appear to be just that. (Rumors!) In fact, those using the new version report highly improved performance. Editors are a-buzz about the security improvements through its new Instant Web Site ID feature, which can integrate with popular spyware and virus programs. There are many personalization improvements, such as the new Smart-Location Bar and one-click Bookmarking. A built-in spell checker is provided too, to help reduce errors in online posts and e-mails.
In fact, there are so many changes and improvements understanding how to take advantage of them may prove to be a challenge. Fabio Cevasco of Sitepoint has published his own product review of the new Firefox 3, spotlighting many of its new improvements. Read more about that here and download this free ebook here:
