As of the time I am writing this, Mozilla's next major revision for the Firefox browser (v3) is out. First off, let me say the word on the feature enhancements has been overwhelmingly positive. At the same time, early reports from those looking at the release version of the program say there may be some security vulnerabilities and site accessibility issues that need to be resolved. For this reason, I'm recommending those wishing to upgrade to that new version that they wait a week or so before doing so. In other words, give the development teams a bit longer to ensure these early 'problem' reports are not with the browser itself and/or resolve such challenges where possible.
In other news, Microsoft is already broadcasting warnings that their next browser edition (v8) will be far more standards compliant. They, in fact, are preparing a series of 'briefing' notes for developers of websites as to changes that should be made so as to minimize accessibility issues. Developers are, of course, applauding that kind of attitude with an 'about time!' kind of response. That program is still in early beta testing, and not one I would recommend people try out at all at this stage.
That's it for today! See everyone online!
